Mina Islam (she/her) is Laal's Senior Accountant. Mina graduated from George Mason University with a BA Global Affairs with a concentration on Internal Development and received an MBA from American University Kogod School of Business. She has spent time working in higher education, the non-profit sector, and finance. Additionally, Mina has worked internationally at Women Against Violence, one of the largest gender based violence NGOs in Palestin

 

Mina manages Laal’s funds, donations, grants, and other resources to support Laal’s mission (and ensures we’re all getting paid!) Mina joined Laal because would like to amplify the voices of Bengali mothers, aunties, and sisters and continue to grow and learn from each other.

In her own words, "I have been following Laal’s journey for quite a while. I was so excited and thankful to finally see a womxn’s organization catered to Bangladeshi womxn. I absolutely love the work Laal does with our Bengali community because they not only enrich the lives of Bengali womxn but help break the generational cycles of trauma passed on to children (myself included)."
