Muneeba Hassan (she/her) is Laal's Executive & Administrative Assistant.  Her past work experiences include administrative work at Cornell Medicine, research experience at The Center for Nuleadership and the CUNY School of Public Health, as well as being a counselor for students at CUNY, the American Musical, and Dramatic Academy, and Let's Get Ready, a non-profit.

Muneeba Hassan is a New York native and proud Bronx resident.  As a CUNY student, Muneeba held various leadership positions including being a senator at Lehman College and president of South Asian Students Association. Upon Graduation, Muneeba worked at Cornell Medicine and had always enjoyed being at service to others.

 

As a daughter of immigrant Pakistani parents, Muneeba has been passionate about building community-based resources for South Asian Womxn. Muneeba was drawn to Laal because she believes her views and beliefs align with Laal’s ideologies such as "liberation through literacy." Her interest in advocating for minorities and building sustainable changes has led her to work in Nicaragua, Washington D.C., and The Bronx. In addition, Muneeba runs a Small Business called Moonlight Couture which caters services to South Asian Womxn. Her creative and artistic talents have allowed her to explore photography, make-up and successfully book numerous henna sessions. As Executive Assistant, Muneeba intends to break down cultural barriers and create dialogues on culturally stigmatized topics like mental health. She also hopes to expand Laal’s programs and provide new ideas for future initiatives. As an EA she has been supportive to the Executive Director and Co-Founder and the team daily. Muneeba is thrilled to be part of our team and can’t wait to see where this new journey of teamwork, advocacy, and community building can lead her.

Muneeba holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration and minor in psychology from CUNY Lehman College. In 2020, she graduated with a Master’s in Public Administration from City College.
